Leadership
Management Commitment: Senior leadership is responsible for fostering a culture of safety, providing resources for EHS improvements, and ensuring compliance.
Employee Responsibility: Every employee is responsible for understanding and adhering to EHS policies and procedures, participating in safety programs, and promoting safe work practices.
Salient Features of EHS Policy:
- Complying with country specific all applicable statutory, legal and other requirements.
- Initiating efforts to minimize impact on Environment, Occupational health and safety to all personnel working directly or indirectly with us or community around.
- Optimizing resource utilization for protection of environment including pollution prevention, Energy & Water conservation and reduction of waste & emissions.
- Provide safe and healthy working condition for the prevention of work related injuries and ill heath by eliminating hazards and reduction of risks by involving all personnel.
- Establishing adequate processes and controls in consultation and participation for assigning the responsibilities of employees, Workers, Contractors, Subcontractors, Transporters, and other agencies entering the premises towards EHS management systems.
- Establish Measures and Continually Improve EHS performance by setting objectives, targets and performance indicator as a part of annual report.
- Ensuring regular audits, hazard and risk assessment of the processes and services by internal and external experts to continually enhance EHS performance.
- Integrating EHS aspects in all decisions dealing with purchase of equipment, machinery, material as well as in the process of selection and placement of personnel and service providers.
- Making continual efforts to create pro-active and learning organization to enhance EHS awareness and competence among employees and EHS performance as a part of their career advancement. Engaging business associates and community through effective stakeholder engagement communication and training.
EHS Management Objectives:
- To provide information on safe usage, storage and disposal of laboratory chemicals.
- Reductions in hazards, risks and ultimately accidents, costs, lost time and/or claims.
- Regulatory compliance of applicable environmental and OHS requirements.
- Industrial Health & Hygiene.
EHS Management Approaches:
- Hazard identification and risk assessment of various activities, right from the development stage to the delivery stage and understanding and incorporating necessary safety measures at the design stage to mitigate the risk.
- Developing, implementing and ensuring effective systems such as operational controls, work permits, mock drills, incident reporting and investigation to identify the root cause and built-in preventive measures, etc.
- Conducting various safety trainings for all employees including contractors on various safety topics such as chemical hazard identification and control, fire safety, emergency preparedness, electrical safety, proper operation and maintenance of various process and emergency equipment and other employee safety-related issues.
- Emergency preparedness is very important and an ‘On-site Emergency’ plan is updated regularly, training imparted, and mock drills are organized to fine-tune the emergency preparedness and response plan.
- Segregation, storage, transportation and safe disposal of laboratory waste.
EHS Certifications
Continual improvement is key to the sustainable growth of an organization. We have implemented an Integrated Environment, Health and Safety Management System, which is ISO14001:2015 and ISO 45001: 2018 compliant and certified.
